Business or Investment Visa

Canada does offer immigration pathways for individuals interested in conducting business activities or investing in the country.

The relevant programs include:

• Start-up Visa Program: This program is designed for entrepreneurs who wish to start a business in Canada and who have the support of a designated organization (angel investor groups, venture capital funds, or business incubators). If the applicant's business idea is accepted, they can apply for permanent residence.

• Self-Employed Persons Program This program is for individuals who have relevant experience in cultural activities, athletics, or farm management and can be self-employed in Canada. Applicants must demonstrate that they intend to contribute to the cultural or athletic life of Canada or can create their own employment by purchasing and managing a farm.

• Investor Programs (Provincial Nominee Programs): Some provinces in Canada have investor immigration programs that require individuals to make a significant investment in a local business. These programs are often part of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

• Intra-Company Transfers: If you work for a multinational company and are being transferred to a Canadian office, you may be eligible for a work permit under the Intra-Company Transfer category.

• Business Visitor Visa: While not a permanent immigration program, the Business Visitor Visa allows individuals to visit Canada for short-term business-related activities. This includes attending conferences, meetings, and negotiating contracts. Business visitors do not intend to enter the Canadian labor market and are generally allowed to stay for a short duration.
