Dependent/ Family Visa

Family members of individuals who hold certain visas may be eligible to apply for dependent visas to accompany or join the primary visa holder in Australia. The eligibility and conditions for dependent visas can vary based on the type of visa held by the primary applicant.

  • Family Reunion for Permanent Residence:

    1- Partner Visas (Subclass 820/801 and Subclass 309/100 Partners (spouses, de facto partners, or same-sex partners) of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens can apply for a partner visa. This visa allows them to live in Australia and, upon meeting certain criteria, eventually obtain permanent residence.

    2- Child Visas (Subclass 101, 102, 445): Dependent children of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens can apply for child visas to join their parents in Australia. The specific subclass depends on whether the child is applying from inside or outside Australia.

  • Temporary Work or Student Visas:

    1- Dependent Child Visa (Subclass 445): This visa allows the child of a temporary work or student visa holder to live in Australia. It is a temporary visa that is usually granted for the same duration as the primary applicant's visa.

    2- Dependent Partner Visa: Dependent partners of temporary work or student visa holders may be eligible to apply for a dependent partner visa, allowing them to live in Australia for the duration of the primary applicant's visa.
